The first vendor show of the season was held on March 29 in Merrill, IA. It feels so good to be back sharing my stories with the public. When a new selling season begins, new books and accessories must be added to my display. This keeps former customers interested knowing that there are new products to look forward to.
My two recent books, “Cows With Bangs” and “Moonbeam’s Halloween Wish” have been a big hit! I can’t keep “Cows With Bangs” in stock. People can’t resist that cute little highland cow. I am confident that “Moonbeam’s Halloween Wish” will gain even more traction during the Fall vendor season.
Another new product is corner bookmarks. I sewed them myself and decorated each one with bling. I had no idea how well they would sell, but when a customer purchased four of them for her book club members, my confidence grew.
Marketing is something I can spend countless hours on, and I try to learn and implement one thing at a time. This winter I learned how to create book trailers and post them on my YouTube Channel. (Tall Girl Publishing)
Public libraries are beginning to contact me for guest author presentations. I love giving presentations! People are curious about the Tall Girl Publishing story, and I love telling it. In retirement, I can see myself presenting more often. In the meantime, if you know of a library or school looking for a guest author, stear them my way!
In addition to the Spring vendor season I am passionate about putting in my garden and planting flowers around my house. Digging in dirt is therapeutic for me and creativity is the heart of who I am. I apply it to everything I do. I hope you enjoy everything Spring has to offer, and I encourage you to try something new!
